By day, George Getlik attended Rutgers University earning degrees in Philosophy and Political Science with a minor in Fine Art. By night he became part of the New York Art scene, attending parties for artists like Grace Jones and rubbing elbows with Andy Warhol.
Upon graduation, George moved to Los Angeles where the arts, commerce, and celebrities converged. It wasn’t long before he was discussing art with Clement Greenberg at David Hockney’s home in the Hollywood Hills, installing Van Gogh paintings for Elizabeth Taylor, and selling paintings to celebrities like Cher, Jacqueline Smith, and Joan Collins, to name a few. He even became an expert witness for the FBI in an art theft case.
For the past 35 years, George Getlik has dealt in antiquities, antique paintings, contemporary art, mid-century, and antique furnishings. He has become a well-regarded international dealer of fine art in London, New York, Los Angeles, and now Atlanta.
Today, he offers his wealth of knowledge and experience to his clients which include museums, moguls, movie stars, and even royalty.
